When a parent creates an observation, they won't automatically be added to the child's internal record. You must manually review any observations the parent creates before they're added.
When new parent created observations are ready to review, they'll appear in the "Parent Activity" section of the app, as shown below. A number next to the parent activity section of the sidebar will show you how many observations are waiting for your approval.
It's important to note that although the parent created observations are assigned to learning goals, those goals are chosen by our AI, not the parent. The parent just writes the observation text and submits (alongside a photo or video if they want to add one), and our AI detects what learning goals have been demonstrated. If you want to change the goals, or anything else about the observation before adding it to the child's internal profile, you can edit the observation just like any other.
To make a decision on whether to add the observation to the child's internal profile, click either Yes or No on the observation card.
Once you've done that you'll see an indicator showing your selection. You can change your decision if needed by pressing on that indicator again.
Here we can see that the observation about Charlotte drawing a cow has been added to their internal profile, whilst the observation about her riding a bike was not. If we go to the class wide observation view we can see that there. The cow observation appears in the list but the bike one does not.
