When the app needs to be updated, you will be presented with a screen such as the one below. The way you update the app will update it depends on whether you have installed TeachScribe through TestFlight or through the App Store.

  • On school managed iPads you will have installed it through the App Store.

  • On iPads that we've provided for the duration of the trial, you will have installed it through TestFlight

Update the app through TestFlight:

On an iPad provided by us for the duration of the trial, TeachScribe will be installed through TestFlight, and not the App Store. To update the app through TestFlight you will to go to the home screen of the iPad, find the TestFlight app, then open it.

Once the app is opened, you will see TeachScribe's testflight page displayed to you. To refresh the page you will want to click the highlighted button in the image below, and then click TeachScribe in the "Apps" > "Currently Testing" section.

Wait a few seconds, and if an update is available, the "Open" and "Send Feedback" buttons will be replaced by an update button. Click on the update button to update the app.

(Image showing the update button coming soon, but the update button will be in this section, replacing the current open and send feedback buttons)

Update the app through the App Store:

On a school managed iPad, it will be the case that TeachScribe is installed through the App Store. To update the app through the App Store you will need to do the following.

First open the App Store app, which will be on your iPad's home screen. If there is no App Store or TestFlight app on your iPad's home screen it is likely that app updates are managed by your IT support so you would need to get in touch with them to help update it.

Once the App Store is opened, you will want to click the "Search" button in the bottom right and then click on the search bar that appears and type "TeachScribe"

The TeachScribe app should then be displayed in the list of apps. The button which the red arrow is currently pointing at should say "Update" and then if you click that button TeachScribe will update to the latest version.

  • If the button is greyed out, that means that app installation and updates are managed by your IT support so you will need to contact them to update it.

  • If the button says "Get" like it does below, then that means that the TeachScribe app may be installed through TestFlight or some other method. If you also don't have the TestFlight app on the iPad, please get in touch with your IT support as it is then likely that your apps installations are managed by them seperately and they would need to update it.

  • If the button says "Open" that means that TeachScribe is installed through the app store but no updates are available. If the app is insisting you update it however please get in touch with us through the live chat in app, or by emailing [email protected]. I will have also sent my phone number over through email so if that's more covenient don't hesistate to call.
