How to record observations for multiple classes at once

If you have two classrooms of children in free flow, and you want to make observations for them both, this is the guide to follow.

To record observations for multiple classrooms at once, first start a recording session and then click the "add class to session" button shown below.

You will then be displayed with a list of classrooms to choose from. Select another class by clicking on it.

If there is a name clash, for example there is a child called George in both classrooms, you will need to give each George a nickname. If they don't have a nickname normally we would reccomend setting the nickname to their first and last name, or their first name and initial. For example set their nicknames to George M and George L, or George Michael and George Lucas.

You will need to use their Nicknames whenever you're making observations for them in an environment where there are two Georges present. When you go back to making single class observations you can refer to them either by their name or their nickname.

If you accidentally make an observation for just "George" instead of George M or George L whilst in free flow, then the observation will be added to the class's review queue for you to review at a later point and decide which child you were referring to.
